VILLAFRANCA IN LUNIGIANA - MS - (TUSCANY) - ITALY
Il Castagneto, as its name says, is a tourist complex in the middle of one of the most famous chestnut trees wood in Lunigiana. Situated in the small village of Villafranca in Lunigiana (province of Massa Carrara) it enjoys a position half way between Liguria and Tuscany as well as neighbouring Emilia Romagna, which allows it to be a good departure place for various itineraries which go from the hilly hinterland of Lunigiana (area at the far north of Tuscany surrounded by the Apennines Tosco-Emiliano, the Alps Apuane and the See of Liguria) to the famous Gulf of the Poets and Five Lands on the Coast of Liguria.
The seaside is reachable in around 30 minutes.
Seen
from the outside, it seems a well-groomed park. Flowers, hedges and
beautiful colours as well as the lights of the swimming pools and of the
football field, the wide lawns shadowed by the several chestnut trees.
It
is a really unique place where you can enjoy the nature in total relax,
but with all the comfort you need.
Each
tent or caravan place is hedged by in order to guarantee your privacy. At
the same time, the chestnut trees offer you lot of shadow to keep you away
from the hot sun and just outside is Lunigiana with its green spaces, its
flavours, its castles and suburbs.
Several
services are available: a bar and mini-market, 3 swimming pools for adults
and children, a football field, a playground for children and more.
Piero
Polli and his children Marino, Paolo, Giuseppe, Eugenio, his
daughter-in-law Gloria and his sister-in-law Rosanna, who run this
paradise since 1978, have created a place in the sin of love for the
nature, quietness, security and cleanliness.
Furthermore, our camp site is associated with the sport organisation CSI in which collaboration we organize sport activities as swimming and water gym lessons.
